Red velvet=yum!

Today I was in a baking mood so decided to make something I have never made before.. red velvet cupcakes!!!

They turned out extremely yummy:) Take a look and try it out for yourselves!

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
makes 24

For the Cupcakes
2 1/2 cups cake flour
2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup (8 ounces) unsalted butter at room temperature
2 cups granulated sugar
2 extra large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
2 Tablespoons liquid red food coloring

For the Frosting
8 ounces brick cream cheese
1/2 cup (4 ounces) unsalted butter at room temperature
1 pound confectioners’ sugar
1 cup marshmallow fluff

For the Cupcakes
Preheat the oven to 350° F. Line two (12-cup) muffin pans with liners; set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda; set aside

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Add the eggs and mix until combined. Using a rubber spatula, scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring; mix until combined. Alternately, add the flour mixture and the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour, mixing just until combined. Scoop the batter evenly into the prepared pans. (I use a generous 1-ounce ice cream scoop). Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Remove the cupcakes from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.

For the Frosting
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, blend the cream cheese and butter. With the mixer on low, gradually add the confectioners’ sugar. Add the marshmallow fluff and beat until smooth.

Using a piping bag or an off set spatula, frost the cooled cupcakes.

Enjoy!

Love and kisses,

Miss M

Beauty mistakes that turn men off!

We ladies enjoy looking good- putting on makeup, coloring our hair, dressing nice, and men love us for that reason as well.

But it is important to have a limit, and know where to stop.

It is true, a lot of times we try to look good for a guy. I admit, I have done it many times.

Although most women don’t do all these things for guys, it is still important to keep them in mind.

Here are some mistakes that women make that men cant stand!

Too much fragrance

Its important to smell good, and it is enjoyable to be near someone who smells nice. But have you ever been next to somene who smells like they just dumped the whole bottle of perfume on themsleves and took a shower in it?

yeah, not too pleasant.

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing, according to men, and I think we as women can agree to this too.

Limit three sprays for an eau de parfum, four for an eau de toilette.

Caked on face

Painting layers of foundation, tinted moisturizer, concealer, and powder on your face… if it rubs off on your collar, it will on his clothes too. Stick with a lightweight foundation, remove any obvious makeup with a damp sponge, and dab concealer just over blemishes or redness. Don’t put on so much product that your face looks like a mask! Look natural 🙂

Raccoon eyes

When poorly done, the Kardashian effect can turn into the spidery effect.  When too much mascara, eyeliner and lashes are applied, at the end of the day, you end up having raccoon eyes. Go easy, a few falsies applied to the outer corners make your eyes look wide, innocent, and sexy, without looking like they could walk on their own.

Oompa Loompa

A subtle bronze glow is gorgeous, but one coat too many and you’re Snooki. Play it safe and go for one that’s just a shade darker than your natural skin-tone. If you’re worried about making a mistake, get it done at a salon.

STIFF HAIR

No man is going to be able to run his fingers through your hair if it’s knotted in a bun, pulled into a twist, or otherwise high-maintenance-looking. Go for a more approachable hairstyle, like easy waves, half up, or a pretty ponytail.

SMOKY-EYE OVERLOAD

Be careful when doing the smokey eyes, there’s a fine line between a smoky eye and looking like you have a black eye.

HAIR ADD-INS

Guys like us to keep things pretty simple. Keep accessories on your handbag and jewelry, and leave the feathers, extensions, tinsel, and bells at home.

Hope that helped!

Love and kisses,

Miss M

How to keep your lips looking their best!

We love wearing our bright colors and glossy gloss, it makes us look good!

But the secret to good looking lips is not the lipstick.

There are a few things to remember when wearing lip product.

It is important to exfoliate and moisturize.

Exfoliate lips with a sugar scrub at least once a week.

Moisturize like crazy!

I have lip balm in my car, by my bed, in my bathroom, in the kitchen, in the garage, keep some handy to keep lips looking good:)

Avoid product with too much sparkle.

Lipsticks and gloss with too much sparkle can look cheap, unflattering, and a little trashy.

Get that shine with a moisturizing formula, not a sparkling one.

Find the right color for your lips.

Make sure your lipstick matches with your skin tone.

When in doubt, go nude.

A nude lip color is flattering for any skin color, so you can never go wrong.

Avoid looking like a vampire.

Colors that are too dark or wash out your skin tone are a no go. Go for something that compliments and brightens your skin tone.

Avoid perfect lines

After applying lipstick, make sure the edges are smooth, you don’t want the edges to be to precise, or the lipstick will look fake.

Start at the center.

When applying color, always start in the center and move out. Never start at the corners, you risk looking clownish.

Don’t over do it.

Distribute color by pursing your lips together, instead of applying all over and then blending.

Dab and blot with a tissue to soften the look.

Enjoy 🙂

Love and kisses,

Miss M

Product to be careful of!

The purpose of this post is to warn you about a product out there that I have tried.

It might not affect everyone the way it did me, but its better safe then sorry!

Recently I purchased and started using a new cleaser.

It is the Biore Blemish fighting Ice Cleanser.

Old packaging

New packaging

Biore has been switching up their packaging so either of those two ^ are still the same product.

I heard so many great reviews on this product, it even has an award from Allure beauty for being one of the best face washes!

My skin is very unsensitive, it has never reacted before in my life.. literally. So I didnt consider this roduct to be any different!

The first time I used it, I fell in love. The gel gives a cooling sensation on the skin and feels so fresh.

I loved how it made my skin feel. The next day, it felt the same, though I felt my skin getting super tight.

I figured that was my skin adjusting so I slathered on extra moisturizer.

The 3rd day, my skin started burning. I quickly washed it off, but the burning continued.

Throughout the day, my skin progressively got worse, bumps started appearing. It looked like hives.

It was also very red, poofy and so itchy! It was also hot to the touch, like a  fever. I was freaking out, I have never reacted to any ingredient before, and this product didn’t seem to have any new ingredients I have never tried before!

I immediatly went online to check out reviews and to see whether people have experienced the same thing I have.

Sure enough, there were countless negative reviews that I didn’t pay attention to before, because I didn’t think I would have a problem.

My skin reaction lasted for about a week, during the time I didn’t apply any makeup because it just felt so uncomfortable.

I really loved this product at first, it was so refreshing, but sadly, we cannot be friends.

Im writing this post just to warn you all about trying new products, make sure you do the research, and test out the product on a small part of your face, unlike me, who slathered it all over without even thinking.

Has anyone else experienced bad reactions to any products? I’d love to hear what products to be wary of, let me know down below!

Love and kisses,

Miss M
